We Lost Our Committed Teacher: Refet Angın

To the Great Memory of our lovely Teacher: Ms Refet ANGIN...

She was born on 18th March 1915 in Çanakkale. Her way crossed with Atatürk many times and Atatürk wanted her to become a teacher of History. She followed His advice. She became a very good teacher. After her retirement in 1982, she continued to work and worked as the "Advisor of the Minister of National Education". She was a great lover of children, learning and teaching and being an Atatürk daughter. She was very active in spite of her old age. Her heart and brain were very young. Her unselfish contributions touched the hearts of many of us... May her soul rest in peace...

A Snowy Week

Dearest Dosts,
We have snow now everywhere in Istanbul. "It is good for health," used to say our grandparents about snow, "It kills germs". Hoping this, I never complained about the coldness of snow. Furthermore, I felt happy for seeing dusty, black raods covered with clean, white blanket. For the hungry birds, I always put some bread to my balcony to feed them. I will share some photos with you about it.
Our Nepal visit for 3-5 November 2010, has started keeping our minds busy. We would like to participate in the 13. ICSQCC but on the other hand, under these financial difficulties we try to find our way out.
In April, the 15th Annual Conference of Human Dignity and Humiliation Studies will be held in Istanbul. The registrations go on. On 8-9-10 April, one groups of Counselling students from The State University of North Florida will be with us and then another team from NYIT will be sharing their experiences with us during the summer school period. I believe they will be very beneficial for all, in addition to giving fun.
This year I have been working within the City Council of Sarıyer (is the Black Sea coast of European Istanbul where I live) as the Education Facilitator of the Leading Committee. We will try hard to mae a better educational profile within our city. There will be seminars and projecst for teachers, students, the challenged and the public. ICT part is also very important for us to motivate the creative and innovative minds.
Our ICT Seagulls project reached at 45 Project circles. We are very proud of our students and teachers. We wish them good luck with their Arts_based projects. I would like to end today's sharing with love and peace...

Dear All,
I believe the year 2010 will open new, white and happy pages in front of the humanity. I am full of hope from the very early minutes of the New Year. Most of my friends also feel the same. We need to be positive and optimistic for the future. It is needed for the sake of our children. For, negative feelings and thoughts bring unhappiness and failure.
I got a very lovely e-mail from my dearest Dost; Dr. Jagdish Gandhi on 7th January, making me very happy. With his permission, I want to share it with all of you. I shared it with my Turkish dosts, for the feelings and the unique way of motivating people of a "dearest" leader must be read by the others. People should learn how to guide persons through positive words. We are in need of the support of our dosts. Insulting or criticising harshly always cause losing your friends, colleagues or students. Whereas; such lines makes you feel the sun within your heart. I wanted to share my flying heart with all the people reading my blog. Please, do the same for your people around you and prove them the charm of "motivation" through such lovely gifts.
I wish you a very Happy 2010 once more.
Thank you Dr. Gandhi.... You are one of my idols on earth.

New Year, New Hopes

Dear Dosts,
I wish a happy, healthy and wealthy New Year for all humanity. We have been witnessing very sad events recently, however; we all know that the solution lies in the heart of a peaceful and scientific educational journey for all_not only for the young. As life-long learners, let's work harder on this issue.
Upon the request of some teams, we extended the deadline of registering ICT Seagulls Project. Since the time management will be done by the circle leaders, the late-starters might handle with their own pace. So, please inform your colleagues about it.
Our Convention (11.ICSQCC) books arrived to CMS, India at last. We are so happy about it. All the participant school leaders and WCTQEE DGs will obtain one. Thank you Dr. Kamran and Bro Dheeraj for your great efforts.
With love and peace...
