Dearest Colleagues,

These are the landmarks of educational technology and I believe from then on the world will turn around much more faster. :)

Turkey Commemorates Ataturk's Death

Dear All,
Although the great Leader, the father of Turks, Ataturk passed away on 10th November, 1938 in Istanbul, he still lives within the hearts of many Turkish people and will leave forever with his revolutionary mindset and contemporary reforms.
He also has impressed many nations with his unforgattable saying: "Peace at Home, Peace in the World.". The following points are the signs of their feelings:
In 1981, the centennial of Atatürk's birth, his memory was honoured by the UN and UNESCO, which declared it The Atatürk Year in the World and adopted the Resolution on the Atatürk Centennial. The Atatürk Memorial in Wellington, New Zealand (which also serves as a memorial to the ANZAC troops who died at Gallipoli); the Atatürk Memorial in the place of honour on ANZAC Parade in Canberra, Australia; the Atatürk Forest in Israel; and the Atatürk Square in Rome, Italy, are only a few examples.
He has roads named after him in several countries, like the Kemal Atatürk Marg in New Delhi, India, Kemal Atatürk Avenue in Dhaka, Bangladesh, the Atatürk Avenue in the heart of Islamabad in Pakistan, the Atatürk Road in the southern city of province of Sindh of Pakistan called Larkana where Atatürk visited back in 1923, Mustafá Kemal Atatürk street in the Naco district of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and the street and memorial Atatürk in the Amsterdam-Noord borough of Amsterdam, Netherlands. The entrance to Princess Royal Harbour in Albany, Western Australia is named Atatürk Channel. Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States, who visited his tomb and praised him, also expressed his view regarding Atatürk's legacy at his speech towards "the Muslim world" by stating Atatürk's "greatest legacy is Turkey's strong and secular democracy, and that is the work that this assembly carries on today." Last Days of October

Dear All,
After those sad days, I have been trying to recover. Losing mum is one of the most terrible feelings of life, however when we think of the young bodies which lost their lives due to disasters like Van earthquake, we prefer silence. Life is a circle and everyone of us will lead the same route.
Last night I hada make-up lesson with my junior students. We talked about the education in the age of change. Their existence is a gift to me. I am thankful to my parenst that they guided me to be a teacher and now after 36 years to be training the teachers of the future is a greater chance for me. Their energy updates me and I forget all the pains, suffers while I am with them.
Today I am going to start the 9th year of the International ICT Seagulls Project at Sütlüve with the support of the Educational Director of Beyoğlu region. I will introduce the project of the year 2012 and I will invite them to take part in it.
I wish you a happy and fruitful day.
